There is a serious problem
with the initial release of Red Hat 9.0: the GNU C-Library (glibc) is broken, causing applications
such as OpenOffice.org and xmms to crash with a "segmentation fault" under certain display settings.
After you have completed the basic Red Hat 9.0 installation, you must update your system,
otherwise some of the features described below will not work. If you have registered for Red Hat support,
you can use the "up2date" utility. Otherwise, download and install the updates manually from the
Red Hat ftp site/mirror, or use an alternative update agent such as
Ximian Red Carpet.
To guarantee consistency, I would recommend that you download all the updates, currently
totalling some 200 MBytes...
